The Habitat Co-op can undertake the work required for your development to comply with wildlife law and to ensure that planning conditions are met. As our team is made up of ecologists that are familiar with the requirements of the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Habitats Directive, we can ensure that your development is compliant with legislation. We offer a range of specialist services.
After working on a variety of development projects for a number of years, the ecologists at the Ecology Co-op became frustrated by seeing the implementation of biodiverse habitat creation being improperly implemented by contractors who lacked experience and understanding of the requirements of natural habitats.
The Habitat Co-op was created as a sister company to the Ecology Co-op, which had developed an increasing role in habitat creation and management alongside the regular protected species surveys and ecological impact assessment work forming the mainstay of their work. The Habitat Co-op has therefore been established to have a dedicated team that can focus purely upon the physical implementation of work.
Below you’ll find photos of recent projects – including artificial badger sett creation; GCN and reptile fencing; SuDS pond creation and a completed SuDS pond.
“The Habitat Co-op has been created specifically to assist developers and homeowners to meet their needs for aesthetic habitat design in residential and commercial landscaping and simple garden design.”
